    I've seen these decades ago. It was not fun passing them or even encountering one from the other direction because they kick up a ton of debris.

    But they are a fact of life in the outback. Back then the Adelaide - Darwin rail corridor didn't exist though, I always imagined this would significantly reduce road trains. But I haven't been back there since 2004 when it was completed.
